This Privacy Policy (“Notice”) sets out the basis which Media MICE Pte Ltd, PIE Magazine, CAKE Magazine, and COOKIE Magazine (“we”, “us”, or “our”) may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process your personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. This Notice applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organizations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose or process personal data for our purposes.

1. “Personal data” means data, whether true or not, about a person who can be identified
   1. from that data; or 
   2. from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access.

2. We generally do not process your personal data unless:
   1. it is provided to us by you directly or via a third party who has been duly authorized by you to disclose your personal data to us (your “authorized representative”) after
      1. you or your authorized representative have been notified of the purposes for which the personal data is collected, and 
      2. you or your authorized representative have provided consent to the collection, use, disclosure and transfer of your personal data for those purposes, or 
   2. collection and use of personal data without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws. 

3. Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, some examples of personal data which we may collect from you are listed below:
   1. Subscribers: When you subscribe to our mailing list or initiate communication with us in order to obtain information on our products and services, you consent to providing us with your personal data (which may include name, email address, occupation, country/place of residence or practice, professional subspecialty); we may segment this data by subspecialty or profession, for communication with us.
   2. Contracts, interviews, articles, videos, virtual meetings and webinars: When you interact with us you may, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal data in order to help us better serve you and keep you updated on our products and services or other relevant information.
   3. Event and Webinar Registrants:  When you register for an event or webinar organized and produced by us, you consent to providing us with your personal data (which may include name, title, email address, occupation, country/place of residence or practice, professional subspecialty).
   4. Website Usage: We may collect data about your usage of our websites and/or apps through the use of cookies and tools such as Google Analytics. The collected data may include your IP address, location, the date and time of your visit, your computer or mobile device’s operating system and browser, the website that referred you to us, your interaction on our websites such as the pages that you viewed and the links that you clicked on, etc. If you post a comment on our websites, your name and/or email address and any other personal data you share will be displayed to the public.
   5. Professional Data: Information voluntarily provided in the context of industry events or in response to content or marketing activities.
   6. Other Information: As reasonably necessary for the performance of our services or business operations.

   9. We do not knowingly collect or process sensitive personal data such as health data, biometric information, payment information, or government identification.

4. We may collect, use and disclose your personal data for any or all of the following purposes:
   1. Providing our services, including conference and event participation;
   2. Managing registrations and attendee communications for webinars, events, or online sessions (where data may be shared with event sponsors as explicitly disclosed upon registration);
   3. Segmenting or profiling (e.g., by subspecialty) for industry-relevant communications and marketing;
   4. Responding to and processing your inquiries, requests, or feedback;
   5. Sending marketing and content communications, including newsletters or updates from us or our magazines, with the option to unsubscribe at any time;
   6. Complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, or rules, or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental and/or regulatory authority;
   7. Managing business relationships and maintaining our legitimate business interests, including internal analytics and website improvement;
   8. Transferring to any third parties including our third party service providers and agents for our business operations, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory authorities, whether in Singapore or abroad, for any of the above purposes; and
   9. Any other business purposes related to or in connection with the above.

5. We may disclose your personal data:
   1. in connection with our provision of goods or services; and
   2. to third party service providers, sponsors, partners, agents and other organizations we have engaged to perform any of the functions listed in clause 3 above (only as described above, and, for event/webinar registrations, as stated at the time of collection);
   3. to governmental and regulatory authorities as required by applicable law.
   4. We do not sell your personal data. We do not share personal information with sponsors except for event/webinar participation, where you are explicitly notified.

Our right to use and retain your personal data for the purposes listed above may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us (for example, pursuant to a contract) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights under any contract with you).

   1. We use cookies and similar technologies on our websites to enhance your experience, analyze website usage, and support our services. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. The types of cookies we use include:

8. Please note that our websites may link to other third-party websites (including social media and sponsor/advertiser sites). Once you leave our site(s), your data is governed by those sites’ privacy practices. 

9. We generally rely on the accuracy of personal data provided by you (or your authorized representative). In order to ensure that your personal data is current, complete and accurate, please notify us of any changes by emailing our Data Protection Officer at the contact information listed below.
   1. You may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including:
      1. Requesting access to or a copy of your personal data;
      2. Requesting correction, deletion, or portability of your data;
      3. Restricting or objecting to processing of your data;
      4. Withdrawing consent for future processing where consent has been provided;
      5. Objecting to certain forms of profiling or direct marketing.

10. To exercise your rights, please submit your request to our Data Protection Officer by emailing to dpo@mediamice.com. We may request you to verify your identity by responding from your registered email address or by providing additional information in order to prevent fraud.

11. We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible. Should we not be able to respond to your request within thirty (30) working days after receiving your request, we will inform you in writing within thirty (30) working days of the time by which we will be able to respond to your request. If we are unable to comply with your request, we shall generally inform you of the reasons why we are unable to do so (except where we are not required to do so under applicable laws). Please note that depending on the nature and scope of your request, we may not be in a position to continue providing our products or services to you and we shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request.

12. If at any time you wish to stop receiving marketing or content communications from us you may unsubscribe at the bottom of the email(s) you receive from us.

13. We may retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws. When retention is no longer necessary, we will remove the identification from the data or securely destroy it. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting our Data Protection Officer.

14. We have implemented administrative, organization and technical security measures in order to protect your personal data from unauthorized access and disclosure. However, you should be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of the information we have and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our information security measures to safeguard our databases from unauthorized access and disclosure. 

15. We may  transfer your personal data to countries outside of Singapore. However, where we do so, we will take steps to ensure that your personal data continues to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the applicable privacy law.
